Peter Capelle is happy to be working as the head musical director of Broadway Babies. Since moving to New York City in 1996, he has worked in the area as a music director, pianist, and keyboardist, and has composed works for his own contemporary music ensemble, which has performed at The Knitting Factory, Steinway Hall, Galapagos, and The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. His composition for orchestra, “Bloodstone”, was selected by the American Composers Forum for an orchestral reading by the St. Paul Symphony. He also composed the score for the film Williamsburg Bridge directed by award winning experimental filmmaker Nicole Koschmann. Peter received his bachelor’s degree in Music Composition at The Cleveland Institute of Music, where he also studied the Dalcroze method. He then earned his Master’s Degree in composition from the Indiana University School of Music. He is currently performing in New York City with Jazz vocalist Kriste Peoples, and with the experimental rock band The Infinite Orchestra.
